Suppliers reissue SDSs every 1–3 years for new regulatory requirements, corrections, or new hazard discoveries, so SDS Manager tracks this for you automatically rather than leaving it to memory:
1 See what's outdated
A bell/notification icon shows a count of outdated documents. Click it to open "SDS where newer version exists," where you can upgrade everything in one click 1, or leave future updates to run on their own 2.

- 1 Upgrade all SDS to the latest version — updates every outdated SDS in one click
- 2 Automatically update SDS to new versions — the "auto-pilot" toggle, with optional email notifications when it runs
2 Review before you upgrade (optional)
Click "Diff." next to any listed SDS to see a side-by-side comparison of what changed between your current version and the new one, so you're not upgrading blind.
3 Upgrade one at a time, all at once, or automatically
Update a single SDS, use "Upgrade all SDS to the latest version" for everything at once, or turn on the auto-pilot toggle so new revisions apply automatically going forward.
4 Request an update directly from the vendor
For any SDS with a revision date three years old or older, SDS Manager can generate a request message to the supplier automatically, written in the vendor's preferred language. See requesting updated SDS documents directly from your suppliers for the full walkthrough.
This page is the hub for staying current — several related tasks (editing extracted data, setting an expiration date, archiving what you no longer use) have their own dedicated answers below.
