How do I maintain my SDS library day-to-day?

Every SDS row in Manage SDS Library has a "⋮" actions menu with the day-to-day maintenance tools in one place 1 2 3 4 5 6:

  • 1 Move SDS — relocate it to a different location (one at a time)
  • 2 Mark product as discontinued — flag it without deleting it
  • 3 Archive SDS — the first step toward permanently deleting it
  • 4 Add EAN / UPC code — link a barcode so employees can find it by scanning
  • 5 Add attachment — attach a supplementary file, like an internal safety note
  • 6 Find SDS for product — attach a real SDS later to a product you added without one

The same menu also has Copy SDS, Replace with new SDS, Edit SDS information, Log presence of product (for inventory reconciliation), and View change log. From the location's own settings menu (top right of the list), you can also rename the location, manage its QR code access, generate an SDS Binder — a single indexed PDF of every SDS in that location — export the list to Excel, or archive the whole location. See also permanently deleting an SDS and adding chemicals without an SDS. Need to move more than one SDS at a time? See bulk-moving SDS records to another location.

This is the toolbox — most individual tasks (deleting, multi-location adds, bulk moves, non-hazardous items) have their own dedicated walkthrough elsewhere in this category.
