Some products genuinely don't have — or need — an SDS, but you still want employees to find them in the library and see that clearly. Upload a stand-in document instead of a real SDS:
- In Manage SDS Library, choose Add Safety Data Sheet → Browse File
- Upload a product sheet for the item (no SDS PDF for it exists, and that's fine) — if you don't have one, use a simple placeholder file such as "This product is nonhazardous.pdf"
- On the Import Status page, click the pencil icon to edit the imported entry
- Enter the product name and supplier name — SDS Manager requires these two fields (a date can be added but isn't required) — then click Save
- On the resulting SDS detail page, set the signal word to "No Danger, No SDS" and save
Once saved this way, anyone searching for that product sees it clearly labeled as non-hazardous with no SDS attached, instead of showing up as a gap in your library.
