Yes — locations are the backbone of how SDS Manager organizes a library, with an unlimited number of nesting levels, so you can mirror sites, buildings, departments, or storage areas exactly. See creating a location hierarchy for the steps.

Tip from the product itself: if you only operate out of a single site, SDS Manager still recommends creating sub-locations for where chemicals are actually stored (e.g. by room or storage area) — it makes ongoing maintenance easier than keeping everything in one flat location.
Storing by location also unlocks:
- Delegating admin permissions to specific team members for just their location — see giving your team access
- Restricting employee QR access to only the SDSs relevant to their own site — see setting up QR code access
- A running count of how many SDSs are linked to each location, at a glance from Sites & Locations
- Adding one SDS to several locations at once instead of repeating the import — see adding an SDS to multiple locations
