There are two levels of access worth knowing about, and most teams end up using both.
1 Admin & Staff users, for people who manage the library
Added from User Management — click Add user 1 and set their role (No Access, Staff, Admin, or Admin Light) and either "Access to all SDSs" or "Customize access" to specific locations. Admins can manage locations and libraries; Staff is the read-only role for anyone who needs an individual login without full admin rights. This is the right choice for anyone who needs to log in and actually add, edit, or organize SDSs — not just look one up. See what each of the five user roles actually does for the exact breakdown, including the fifth role ("Admin with approval") that isn't in the initial role dropdown.

- 1 Add user
2 QR code access, for everyone else
Read-only, no login required, and this is what most employees actually need. Create a QR code per location (or one for your whole company) with Create QR poster 1, then print it or drop the link on your intranet. Anyone who scans it — like the example below 2 — can search your SDS library instantly on their phone. Full detail on setting one up is in How can our employees access the SDS library by scanning a QR code poster? in the next category.

- 1 Create QR poster
- 2 An existing QR poster, live on this account
There's also a free SDS Manager mobile app for offline access — see the next question for details.
Fixed: terminology — "User management" is now under "Employee Access"; added the mobile-app detail that wasn't documented before, and split admin users from QR-code users into their own steps since they're set up in different places for different people.
